Galapagos is one of those unique places in the world. A true paradise for nature and wildlife lovers. They were called the Enchanted Islands by sailors who before reaching its shores saw them disappear into the fog.

It took long time until the world recognizes the biological importance of the Galapagos Islands. A trip on board the H.M.S Beagle helped Charles Darwin to finish his book “The Origin of Species” that changes the way to see the world.

One of the ways to visit Galapagos is to stay in a hotel at one of the inhabited islands. You could travel from one island to the other by a speedboat.

The origin of the islands is the product of volcanic eruptions caused by the collision of tectonic plates. They reach an elevation of 2600 meters above sea level, forming different climatic zones, each one with its own flora and fauna.

Galapagos weather is determined by the ocean currents of Humboldt and El Niño. From December to May is sunny and warm with a high probability of rain but they are the best months to travel for its climate. During the months of June to November it is cooler and dry but are good months to observe migratory species and marine life.

San Cristobal Island – Puerto Baquerizo Moreno

Puerto Baquerizo Moreno is the capital of the Galapagos Province and has the second largest number of inhabitants in the archipelago. The best places to visit are: The Interpretation Center; Ochoa Beach; Playa; Man; Pitt Pint; El Junco Lagoon; you will be surprised by the presence of see lions at Lobos Island!. One of the highlights when visiting this island is a tour to Kicker Rock, a stunning rock surrounded by abundant sea life especially sharks.

Isabela Island – Puerto Villamil

One of the most enchanted Islands! On this island you can find many tourist attractions such as: Concha y Perla Bay, a giant tortoise breeding center, the incredible Sierra Negra Volcano and Chico Volcano, The Wall of tears and on the way you could visit a Flamingo Lake.

Santa Cruz Island – Puerto Ayora

This is the main port of entrance to the Archipelago and mostly inhabited island with 10.000 people approximately. At the capital of the Island Puerto Ayora you could find excellent handicrafts, jewelry shops, art galleries, restaurants, bikes, kayaks, diving and snorkeling for rent.
